I will never darken their door again.
I found some items I wanted on my own and took them to the check-out enclosure they have, where the fellow had his back to me. I called out "Hello!" (and trust me, I have a very audible voice) and he continued to ignore me. So I left my purchases on the counter and walked out.
Thank you.

I enjoy the knowledge and help I receive whenever I come in. The group rides are great and the clinics are very helpful. Support your local bike shop. If you don't know why, you should stop in and ask.
I'm never shopping here again, I'd rather go to Dover Cyclery or make the longer trip to Papa Wheelies or some store in Durham.
I purchased a set of expensive gloves (~$130) there and needed to return them because they didn’t fit correctly. As I was looking for a new set (the ones I was looking at where about $20 more than the ones I wanted to return), the owner ( I assume ) told me that she couldn’t take them back because they were worn. I bought them 4 HOURS AGO. Walmart takes back stuff, LL Bean takes stuff back, stores in general take back stuff. We have purchased bikes, ski boots, helmets, a ton of stuff and have given them thousands. I have a 3 and 5 year old that need, more bikes, more helmets, more skies, more everything and would have given them thousands more but I will be taking my business ANYWHERE but Philbrick's. BAD BUSINESS.
I would like to update my review. A while back, I purchased some expensive gloves that didn't work out and I was told that I wasn't allowed to return them. So, the owner of Philbrick's reached out to me, first off, I thought that in itself was great. He gave me an in store credit and it all worked out. My confidence restored, I WILL be going back to Philbrick's for my families sporting needs. I do, very much so, want to support local business and what the owner did, will allow me to do so. So thank you George, you will be seeing my face back in your store. Thank you.
I can't express how great Megan, George, and the rest of the staff have been to me. During a recent triathlon, my Felt bike had a small crack in the frame that I reported to Megan at Philbrick's. She immediately came to my assistance with the understanding this was my only bike that I had at the time. With another triathlon on the schedule in a few weeks, she reached out to a Felt dealer and confirmed with them the warranty which was covered. In the matter of days, I received a new frame and all of the work necessary to complete the bike with the parts from my previous frame was done. They also loaned me a bike to ride at no cost while they were working on my frame. George was very helpful along the way and was able to put in the good word on my behalf to Felt. No other shop in the area has been gracious enough to do this and their time, effort, and hard-work to get this done for me will always be appreciated. They're the best!
Original Review:
I used to be a big fan of this place, now I'm never coming back. Today, I was out for a ride and decided to stop by and look around. The staff was friendly, helpful, and one even recognized the jersey I bought from you that I was wearing. On my way out, after buying nothing and not acting suspicious an older employee asked me, "Got anything that belongs to us?" I was confused. I didn't, I said no. He then proceeded to check my bag, question my own riding gear I was wearing and MY pair of gloves hanging out of my pocket. He was extremely rude and accused me of shoplifting. I was very angry. I walked out and continued on my way.
I understand that security is a concern, especially when I have a bag. Ask me to leave it at the front or maybe be polite. I know this isn't like you Philbrick's, I thought I was a valued customer who has bought multiple bikes and many other things here and not a crook or thief.
Walked in on 12/19/16, ready to drop a decent amount of cash on bike-riding accessories. There might have been one other customer in the store. Wasn't helped or even greeted, but the man who walked in after me was greeted and helped immediately.
